Here we are, all the way round the year to December, again. Are you where you thought you’d be at the beginning? Somewhere unexpected? Somewhere between here and there, poised for….?

I’ll be spending some time, this month, looking back, and forward…and I won’t be forgetting Now – the only instant we ever own, the only one we can ever directly act upon. I’ll be weaving past, present, and future, like Scrooge’s ghosts, divining what meaning and learning and delight I can find there….

(Yes, I am a member of the Muppet Generation, and this delights me!)

This Now is an exhilarating one:

  • This post marks the 444th post on this blog.

  • I’ve attained my goal of completing an entire WIP rough draft during NaNo!

  • We’ll be popping by the local NNWM TGIO (Thank God It’s Over) party!

  • We’re warm and cozy, haveplans to see friends, and holiday cheering in the works.

  • My house is quiet, peaceful, and filled with my favorite people and things.

  • I’m thrumming with ideas, insights, and a wide-open sense of possibility!

And…it’s a book! From my mind!

In the coming days, I’ll be reviewing my NaNo experience, exploring holiday traditions, how we live, where I am, have been, and will be, and current events I’ve been thinking about. I’ll be picking up some loose threads, and seeing what I can create for the rest of 2013. I’ll begin making intentions and action plans for 2014. I will be with those I love, in various ways…I may even get brave, and offer an olive branch and mended fence or two. Without you, the people who come to read and to share, there wouldn’t be 444 posts on this blog. I hope, whatever December means to you, that you’ll drop by for a hot beverage (unless it happens to be hot where you are!) and a tasty blog treat – something that delights, inspires, amuses, gets you to thinking, noticing, dreaming…. I strive to be worth your time. Your precious, one Now, whichever one you read this in.
